Out of over fifty years of courageous Christian ministry, including an outstanding career as an Assemblies of God Navy chaplain, pastor and now missionary, Chaplain Glenn Brown has written the clearest, kindest and most theologically intelligent treatise on a key doctrinal issue that I have read. His challenge to the stubborn insistence that speaking in tongues is the necessary manifestation of one’s baptism in the Holy Spirit is the first and finest presentation from a member of the Assemblies of God, the largest Pentecostal denomination in the world. Many charismatics from a wide range of denominations have taken a similar view to that of Chaplain Brown. read more»

Retired Episcopal Priest, Former Canon Theologian for Diocese of Rio Grande

I have known Chaplain Brown for many years, with a growing appreciation for his intelligence, commitment and integrity. I can honestly say I have never met an individual who has more demonstrated his honesty and willingness to sacrifice whatever is called for, to be “Christian-to-the-core.”  When you read this book, you will understand my description of such integrity. It is rare, genuine and beautiful. Such integrity would qualify it to be said of Chaplain Brown what Jesus said of Nathaniel: He is a man “in whom is no guile.” I so value such a person in a climate of serious questions as to motives and behavior in Christian leaders.

I not only enthusiastically recommend this book to the largest audience possible, but I do so confident of bringing a new spiritual insight into the potentially dynamic dimension of Christian experience.
